About Me
Welcome to The Storybook Post! My name is Caroline den Dulk. I have been a self-taught artist for 15 years and within the past few years, fell deeply in love with illustrating. I am deeply stubborn about living life slowly so you don't miss what really matters. I am completely convinced the world needs the joy of art to bring us closer together.
I desperately saw a need for more children's stories that bring a bit of nostalgia and love into your home. If this is something you can relate to, welcome to my cozy corner. I'm so glad you're here and I'd be so honored to have you join The Storybook Post!
My Story
I grew up artsy starting with crayons, then colored pencils, acrylics, scrapbooks, and anything else I could get my hands on. In high-school art class I fell in love with watercolor as soon as I started painting with it. But without any money I didn't have a way to buy a palette of my own. So I "borrowed" my mom's and never gave it back. I started painting birthday cards for family members and slowly my skill grew.
In college I walked away from my creativity for awhile, believing art was a hobby and not a skill. I joined a nursing program, and completed one semester, but I was miserable. I had never fully given up on my dream to be a full time artist. So much to my family's dismay I quit and picked up a brush again.
I met the love of my life during nursing school, and with his encouragement I began to paint again. We are now happily married!!
Now, here I am in the process of creating my dreams!!
I feel so blessed to be able to imagine and put onto paper the little worlds and stories I want to share. My hope is that you are able to take a few moments to slow down and share The Storybook Post with a child or loved one.
